Since its establishment, CFA Society of Sweden has the stated goal of supporting local candidates in their efforts to pursue the CFA Charter. Obtaining the charter is not an easy task, and we try to offer candidates various means to encourage them in their course of study. Some of our efforts are done in close cooperation with CFA Institute in Charlottsville and some are done independently or together with partner societies from all over the world. We strive to offer a wide range of assistance that may be of help to the candidate.
The CFA Program is designed as a self-study program. One extra challenge arises as the candidate does not always have somebody to discuss topics and problems with during the course of study. CFA Society of Sweden offers various solutions to this, including Study Groups, Prep-courses and Trial exams. CFA Society of Sweden is pleased to assist candidates that want to organize study groups for the CFA® exam. Joining a study group is definitely an effective resource in preparing for the exam.
If you are planning to take the CFA exam, consider signing up for a study group. These informal, educational groups have helped hundreds of CFA candidates pass the exam at all three levels. Candidates report that the study groups are an invaluable aid to surviving the exam preparation process.
The advantages of joining a study group are numerous. Each group has a cross-section of people from various disciplines such as equity, or fixed income, to provide members with a wide range of experience when working with difficult concepts. The regular meetings help candidates stay organized and on schedule. The group also establishes a sense of camaraderie in an otherwise difficult and stressful experience, and members often form lifelong business and personal relationships.

Preparatory Courses
Every year, the CFA Society of Sweden tries to coordinate with external providers of Prep Courses in order to be able to offer candidates a short sum up before the exam. Structured Prep courses have helped many candidates in their preparation and made it easier for them to wrap up their learning process before the actual exam. Although it is not possible to tackle all details in a short course, being with an experienced instructor, discussing some of the challenging issues in the program as well as getting some useful tips on how to study, can be very helping.
Over the years, many candidates have recognized the difficulty of being adequately mentally prepared to sit for the six-hour exam. They think the stress of the exam situation affected their performance to a large extent. This is why we organized a Trial Exam in the actual location of the real exam by mimicking the process candidates will go through on exam day. Not only is it a good way to test your knowledge one month before the real exam, but we also believe it is good mental preparation for the exam experience.
Other Events
As a CFA candidate in Sweden, you have access to a large network of investment professionals, through contact with current candidates/future CFA charterholders as well as with current charterholders. We regularly arrange a number of both professional and more informal social events where you can freely discuss any issues with CFA Charter holders and members of the Society.
