Since its establishment, The CFA Society of Sweden has the clear goal of supporting local candidates in their efforts to pursue the CFA Charter. As this is not an easy task, we try to offer candidates various means in order to encourage them in their course of study. Some of our efforts are done in close cooperation with CFA Institute in Charlottsville and some are done independently or with other partner societies from all over the world. The important thing that we focus on is that we offer any help the candidate would need.
The CFA Program is designed to be a self-study program. However, one disadvantage arises as the candidate does not always have somebody to discuss topics and problems with along the course of study. The CFA Society of Sweden offers a number of solutions for this including Study Groups, Prep-courses and Trial exams. The CFA Society of Sweden is pleased to offer to candidates the help needed to organize study groups for the June 2007 exam. Joining a study group is definitely an effective resource in preparing for the CFA® exam.
If you are planning to take the CFA exam, consider signing up for a study group. These informal, educational groups have helped hundreds of CFA candidates pass the exam at all three levels. Candidates report that the study groups are an invaluable aid to surviving the exam preparation process.
The advantages of joining a study group are numerous. Each group has a cross-section of people from various disciplines such as equity, or fixed income, to provide members with a wide range of experience when working with difficult concepts. The weekly meetings help candidates stay organized and on schedule. The group also establishes a sense of camaraderie in an otherwise difficult and stressful experience, and members often form lifelong business and personal relationships.

Preparatory Courses
Every year, the CFA Society of Sweden tries to coordinate with external providers of Prep Courses in order to be able to offer candidates a short sum up before the exam. Structured Prep courses have helped many candidates in their preparation and made it easier for them to wrap up their learning process before the actual exam. Although it is not possible to tackle all details in a short course, being with an experienced instructor, discussing some of the challenging issues in the program as well as getting some useful tips for how to study, can be very helping.
All over the years, many candidates have recognized the fact that it is not easy for them to be mentally prepared to sit for the six-hour exam. They think that the stress of the exam situation affected their performance to a large extent. That is why we organized a Trial Exam in the actual location of the real exam and by mimicking the same process candidates will go through the day of the exam. Not only it is a good way to test your knowledge one month before the real exam, but also we believe it is a good mental preparation for the exam experience.
Other Events
As a CFA candidate in Sweden, we want you to have access to a larger network of investment professionals by having contact with current CFA candidates and future CFA charterholders. One way for us to achieve this is to meet regularly in an informal event where you can freely discuss any issues with CFA Charter holders and members of the Society.
